IMBAS Council Minutes

10-21 November 1997

1. The Chair made a motion that Mary Walker be confirmed as Interim Secretary and Danielle Ní Dhighe be confirmed as Interim Treasurer and Interim Editor-in-Chief so that IMBAS can function on a day-to-day basis until all the other issues involved are sorted out. Confirmations must be renewed by vote of the Council if new officers do not assume the positions within three months. Seconded by Francine Nicholson, Mary Walker, and Mike Wilson. Passed by a 9-0 vote.

2. Polly Crawford was confirmed as Registered Agent for IMBAS in the State of Washington by a 9-0 vote.

3. Francine Nicholson made two motions:
   a. All officers and committee chairs shall be members of IMBAS before being appointed to office.
   b. All members of committees shall be required to be members of IMBAS.

   Both motions were seconded by Mike Wilson. The Chair placed both motions on the Agenda for future discussion.

4. The Treasurer's Annual Report was delivered and discussed. More information was requested by the Council so a motion was made by the Chair and seconded by Mike Wilson to postpone a decision on the report until that information was provided.

3-10 November 1997

1. Session officially opened, new Councillors welcomed, parliamentary procedure explained.

2. Agenda Item #2: Waive any claim by IMBAS to the rights of the Celtic Reconstructionist book edited by Francine Nicholson or compensation. Passed by No Objections Vote.

3. Mike Wilson made a motion that netiquette standards for the IMBAS Mailing Listlist be established. Seconded by the Chair and placed on the Agenda.

4. Mike Wilson made a motion that a free online e-zine journal be added to the agenda, to be discussed and voted on. Seconded by Francine Nicholson and placed on the Agenda.

5. Agenda Item #3: Confirmation of Non-Elected Officers and Committee Chairs.

   a. Molly NíDána made a motion that all committees be re-evaluated before new heads are appointed, and a full description of the scope and purpose be posted for discussion and approval by the Council as presently constituted. Seconded by Francine Nicholson. Passed by vote of 8-1.

   b. The Chair made a motion that Mary Walker be confirmed as Interim Secretary and Danielle Ní Dhighe be confirmed as Interim Treasurer and Interim Editor-in-Chief so that IMBAS can function on a day-to-day basis until all the other issues involved are sorted out.
